Today’s hot tip for your relationship, is to do something each day for you. Do something that lights you up, something that fills your own tank!
The reason this is important for your relationship is because when we start to shift our focus back to us, and we start to prioritise our own needs, and we actually give to us, we’ve got something in our tank to give to others. It’s not actually about what we give to others, our primary responsibility is our own well being.
Rather than the constant flow of energy out, I want you to bring your flow of energy and your focus back to you. What’s one thing you can do each day that you know makes a difference for you? It could be as simple as having a cup of tea or whatever you like to drink, and drinking the whole thing in one sitting. Rather than finding half drunk cups of tea all over the house. It could be cutting some flowers from the garden and bringing them inside so you’ve got something beautiful to look at. It could be putting on a song that you like, whilst you’re getting on with dinner. It could be something as simple as when you get out of the shower in the morning, applying your moisturiser, in a loving, nurturing way, rather than slapping it on as quickly as you can and getting out the door ready for the next thing.
Bring your focus and energy back to you by doing something simple each day. That is about you so that you don’t feel like everything is about everybody else.
Sometimes it’s okay for it to be about you. In fact, it’s essential for it to be about you. Because as the saying goes, we can’t pour from an empty cup. We can’t give to others yhat which we haven’t already given to ourselves. Look for the opportunities in your day to do what makes a difference for you, so you to fill your own tank so that you don’t feel so burdened and resentful.
